Grants are awarded to students with significant financial need in combination with work and loans as part of an aid package. Normally, financial need is determined from information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA.
NOTE:ÌýEffective 2012-2013, no student will be eligible to receive more than 12 semesters or its equivalency of the Federal Pell Grant. The Pell Lifetime Eligibility Usage for qualifying, undergraduate students is 600%.
NOTE:ÌýEffective 2017-2018, eligible students are able to receive up to 150% of the Federal Pell Grant Scheduled Award for an award year. To be eligible for the additional Pell Grant funds, the student must be otherwise eligible to receive Pell Grant funds for the payment period and must be enrolled at least half-time, in accordance with 34 CFR 668.2(b), in the payment period(s) for which the student receives the additional Pell Grant funds in excess of 100 percent of the student’s Pell Grant Scheduled Award.
Each participating school receives a certain amount of FSEOG funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid. Once the full amount of the school’s FSEOG funds has been awarded to students, no more FSEOG awards can be made for that year. This system works differently from the Federal Pell Grant Program, which provides funds to every eligible student.

Up to $4,000 annually for students

FWS assignments are intended to compliment and reinforce educational programs to the maximum extent possible. Students are encouraged to maintain employment positions which can broaden the range of job opportunities.
Each FWS student must submit their timesheets and have their supervisor approve their time by 5:00 pm at the end of each working day of the month.
This process must be completed efficiently and on-time to ensure payment according to the pay schedule. FWS students working on campus earn $11.00 per hour. FWS students working Off-campus (Community Service Programs) earn $12.00 per hour.

Financial aid is not disbursed immediately upon registration. Students must be enrolled, begin attendance, demonstrate academic engagement, and complete all required financial aid documentation before funds can be applied to their account. Most forms of financial aid are generally processed within approximately 30 days from the start of classes, provided all eligibility requirements have been met.
Â鶹Éç applies a 30-day delayed disbursement schedule for Federal Direct Loans. Loan funds will not be disbursed until approximately 30 days after the start of the enrollment period and after all eligibility requirements have been satisfied.
If financial aid exceeds tuition, fees, and other authorized charges, a credit balance may be created on the student’s account. Eligible refunds will be processed in accordance with federal regulations and institutional procedures. Students will be notified through their official Â鶹Éç email account regarding refund availability or any additional requirements.
For questions regarding financial aid status, students should contact the Financial Aid Office.

Disbursement timelines are estimates and may vary based on individual eligibility, enrollment status, academic engagement, completion of required documentation, and institutional processing schedules.
Financial aid is generally processed after you have begun attendance, demonstrated academic engagement, and completed all required financial aid documentation. Most aid is typically processed within approximately 30 days from the start of classes, provided all eligibility requirements have been met.
Â鶹Éç applies a 30-day delayed disbursement schedule for Federal Direct Loans. Loan funds are generally not disbursed until approximately 30 days after the start of your enrollment period and after all eligibility requirements have been satisfied.
Common reasons include missing documentation, incomplete verification, failure to begin attendance or demonstrate academic engagement, enrollment changes, SAP issues, incomplete loan requirements, or unresolved institutional requirements.
Students should be prepared to cover educational expenses until financial aid is disbursed. Any available bookstore authorization programs will be communicated separately by the College.
Students are responsible for meeting all registration, payment, and financial aid requirements established by the College. Financial aid eligibility does not guarantee enrollment protection if required steps have not been completed.
Many students expect a refund immediately after classes begin; however, financial aid refunds are only available after aid has been received and applied to the student’s account.
Once these steps have been completed, eligible refunds will be processed in accordance with federal regulations and institutional procedures.
Students should not make financial commitments based on anticipated refund dates, as processing times may vary depending on eligibility, enrollment status, academic engagement, and completion of required documentation.
Students will be notified through their official Â鶹Éç email account when a refund is available or if additional action is required.

A Federal Pell Grant, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid. Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or a professional degree. (In some cases, however, a student enrolled in a post baccalaureate teacher certification program might receive a Pell Grant). The maximum yearly award is determined by the Department of Education. The amount a student receives depends on financial need as determined by the FAFSA, costs to attend school, the student’s status as a full-time or part-time student, and plans to attend school for a full academic year or less.
This program is a campus-based program administered directly by the Financial Aid office at the school. Unlike the Federal Pell Grant program, which provides funds to every eligible student, the campus-based program provides a certain amount of funds for each participating school to administer each year. When the money for the program is gone, no more awards can be made from that program for that year. This program is for students who demonstrate exceptional financial need on the FAFSA. Pell Grant recipients with the lowest EFCs will be the first to receive FSEOG.
These grant funds are awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or a professional degree.
The Federal Subsidized Student Loan is free of interest to the student while enrolled at least half time, during the grace period after enrollment ends and during periods of authorized deferment. The Federal Unsubsidized Student Loan is not interest-free at any time. The student is responsible for the interest from the date of disbursement. However, interest payments are deferred while the student is in school at least half time, during the grace period, and during authorized periods of deferments. The interest will continue to accrue and will be added (capitalized) to the principal balance once repayment begins. Both loan programs have a six-month grace period after the student graduates or drops below half-time enrollment. That means a student has six months before he or she has to start making payments on the loans.
Arkansas Future (ArFuture) is the newest state grant program. The purpose of this grant is to increase the education and skills of Arkansas’s workforce in an affordable manner. The grant applies to students enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) or regional high-demand areas of study. The grant will cover tuition and fees for qualifying certificate and Associate degree programs at Arkansas’ public institutions for eligible students. The grant is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The purpose of the scholarship is for workforce training in high-demand areas of healthcare, information technology, and industry.Ìý Classes are not limited to credit-bearing programs.Ìý Non-credit, workforce-training classes that fit into the three above categories may also qualify.
